Most people know me as Mario. I am the founder of Mario Test - blood testing at home, driven by the belief that insight into your own health should be accessible to everyone.
BIG-registered nurse. Huge passion for health, preventive medicine and the science behind it. Based in Amsterdam - active throughout the Netherlands.
1 Who I am
I have always been focused on optimising health. Sports, exercise and a healthy lifestyle are not just my profession, it is my passion. That drive ultimately brought me to where I am today.
I followed the nursing and anaesthesia nursing training programmes. This gave me experience in hospitals, healthcare institutions and operating rooms. Currently I also work in a private clinic where we actively practise preventive medicine - mapping and optimising health before symptoms arise.
Besides my work in healthcare, I enjoy training hard. That combination - clinical experience, an enormous passion for the science behind preventive health, and my own sports background - is the foundation of Mario Test.

Mario Test offers blood testing at home - from a basic health check to comprehensive longevity and TRT monitoring panels. A BIG-registered professional comes to your home, office, gym or wherever you want in the Netherlands.
I work with the exact lab cost price, rounded up. No markup, no hidden fees, no margin. You choose the package, I take care of the rest. Transparent - always.
3 Why I do this
We live in a time where we can monitor our health better than ever. We count our steps, measure our heart rate with a Garmin or Apple Watch, and track our sleep. But what is happening inside our body, most of us don't know.
We are learning more and more about preventive medicine. And the evidence is clear: prevention is far more important than cure. Early detection and adjusting your lifestyle - that makes the difference. Not waiting until symptoms appear.
That is why I started Mario Test. I want blood testing to become as accessible, transparent and natural as checking your step counter. For everyone - without necessarily needing a referral from your GP.

6 Important to know
I am a BIG-registered nurse - not a doctor. This means I do not make medical diagnoses, do not prescribe medication, and am not obligated to give medical advice based on your blood values.
The results you receive are intended for insight, prevention and health optimisation. In case of abnormal values, you can take action yourself, do further research, or consult a (GP) doctor.
Do you need a doctor specialised in preventive medicine? This can be optionally requested - it is not a standard part of the service.
7 Our laboratory partner
Hospital-grade quality. Made accessible at home.
For the analysis of your blood values, we work exclusively with Medische Laboratoria Dr. Stein (Medlab Stein) - founded in 1997 and part of the Limbach Gruppe from Heidelberg, Germany.
The laboratory is located in Mönchengladbach and has state-of-the-art equipment. With a team of over 600 employees, more than 5 million samples are analysed annually for healthcare professionals, hospitals, occupational health services and innovative organisations in the BeNeLux and Germany.
The lab is DAKKs, ISO 17025 and ISO 15189 certified - the highest international standards for medical laboratories. Medlab Stein is fully independent: not affiliated with manufacturers and does not sell medication. Results are delivered quickly via a secure portal, with a Dutch point of contact from their office in Maastricht.
Your home test is analysed with the same equipment, protocols and quality standards as in the hospital.
